The goal of the "A Step Towards a Forever Home" project is to provide care, food, shelter and exposure for street cats waiting for their "forever home," through a shelter chosen by a Sponsor.
City Cat Hotel opened in April 2023, and socially responsible business is an important part of our mission.
Together with us, you have the opportunity to support shelters caring for abandoned animals, while giving cats top-quality accommodation and a real chance at finding a forever home.
We genuinely look forward to working together, because it's only by joining forces that we can become "the change we want to see in the world."
The idea for the project grew out of everyday volunteering and first-hand insight into the situation on the ground — city streets, neighbourhoods and yards — as well as the needs of animal welfare shelters, primarily those caring for cats.
Given the rising number of abandoned pets (especially cats), and the unfortunate increase in delayed adoptions around summer — when people go on holiday and new litters of kittens arrive — the biggest challenge for shelters has become healthy, socialised cats who wait in their care for owners, in turn blocking space for new cats coming in off the street who need recovery and care.
With that in mind, we created the "A Step Towards a Forever Home" project. Its goal is to care for healthy, socialised cats already in shelters' care — giving them food, shelter and attention, helping them find homes, and freeing up shelter capacity to take in new cats from the street who need their help.
Our hotel spans 122 m² and has capacity for 50 accommodation units, or sleeping rooms. We've set aside 10 sleeping rooms for the "A Step Towards a Forever Home" project.
As our partner in this project, you would have an exclusive right to sponsor a sleeping room at the hotel for a period of one year. Of course, there's no limit to the number of rooms you can fund — if you'd like to support more than one shelter, you can do so by sponsoring multiple rooms.
Once you've chosen and sponsored a room, you select a shelter operating in Croatia and grant them use of that room for a year, for the cats in their care who are looking for a home. The shelter can be from anywhere in Croatia — we handle the contact and coordinate the cats' arrival and all other details of their stay at City Cat Hotel.
During the cats' stay at the hotel, beyond the room itself and all the comforts of accommodation, along with the endless attention of our caretakers, you also provide food and litter for the cats for the entire year of the room's sponsorship (regardless of how many cats "pass through" that room on their way to their forever home).
City Cat Hotel is active on social media, and our posts are followed by many cat lovers, with our follower count steadily growing. When cats from shelters are housed at the hotel, each cat's personal story will be shared across all our social channels — and, with consent, the Sponsor's support will be highlighted too.
Through active promotion of cats up for adoption — with fun, informative posts and meet-and-greets with prospective owners who bring in their own pets — we believe we can help these cats find homes faster, and during the sponsorship period find a home for as many cats as possible from the shelter you've chosen to support.
During the sponsorship period, we offer all employees of your company a 10% discount on all hotel services.
Throughout the entire sponsorship period, we'll include your company in our promotional activities and feature the logos of all our supporters on the hotel's website.
Your company's logo will also be displayed on the cat's "sleeping room" at the hotel.
Every cat that leaves City Cat Hotel for their forever home won't go empty-handed. Each cat arrives at their new home with a "Start-up" package — everything a cat needs to start their new life: a carrier, a litter box, toys, bowls, food, and more.
Since every cat staying at City Cat Hotel had to meet certain requirements (spayed/neutered, litter-trained, free of infectious diseases, treated for internal/external parasites, etc.), you can rest assured that your new family member arrives well "raised," fully checked over by a vet, and used to living alongside people and other animals.
